Announcing our 2016 Student Scholarship Recipients

The Jordan Timothy Wilson Heroes Award

In 2013, DDWSF established The Jordan Timothy Wilson Heroes Award to be given to
one of the nine DDWSF recipients who has survived childhood life threatening illness
and is now poised to attend college.

The Jordan Timothy Wilson HEROES AWARD has been established by
The Rev. Dr. Ruby Wilson and her three children, Diamond, Jasmin, and
Jordan as a Living Tribute to her son, Jordan Timothy Wilson.

In 2012, Jordan was diagnosed with cancer and other challenging conditions which
has led to his extended stays in hospitals and having to spend the bulk of his schooling
in the home. Although his illness—and the medical treatment he must receive—
sometimes make him very, very ill, Jordan continues to battle and fight through
every hardship and struggle with a mischievous grin and boundless energy.

We are grateful for the prayers that go up for Jordan every day by so many people
all over the world. We are especially grateful for the support of our church family,
Safe Haven United Church of Christ and prayer warriors like Mother Rebecca West,
Deacon Judy Jones and Minister Kris Watson, who pray without ceasing for Jordan.

This award will be given to the DDWSF recipient who, like Jordan, experienced
childhood challenges but still strives to give his/her best and to make the best of
the many difficult bumps and rough roads in the journey.

Our goal is to galvanize 1,000 people who are willing to contribute $9 each month
or make an annual contribution of $108 for the funding of this award and we ask that
you partner with us in this endeavor to invest in future leaders.

We are proud to present the very first recipient of
The Jordan Timothy Wilson HEROES AWARD to….Kristina A. Spicer
